Celebrate Christmas With Our Real Housewives GIFmas
Christmas is a time for family. Whether the festivities involve drinking yourself silly to get through the day or taking bets on how long it will take an elderly relative to realise they have gravy on their chin, most of us spend Christmas with those closest to us. And that's no different for a Real Housewife. Christmas is a time for them to stop the silly fighting, and take time to think about the important things in life.
Unless you're Teresa Giudice, then you just do the crazy things we've come to expect from you. Tre seems to ramp up the crazy at Christmas. She once infamously admitted to throwing out the cookies that Melissa brought over for as a gift. Later, she confessed to throwing out the gifts that her brother and Melissa had bought for the Giudice children. I don't know about you, but I'd love to be the person who collects their bins. Think of all the new, rhinestone-encrusted stuff you would come across?
Being Italian, most of the New Jersey housewives are Catholic, and so Christmas takes on extra meaning for them. Take Melissa: her favourite saying, aside from “I wasn't a stripper”, appears to be “Thank you Jesus.” Melissa has thanked Jesus for the important things in her life, like the recording studio in her basement. Seeing as Jesus has been so good to her, it's no surprise that Melissa gets so excited about Christmas, even changing its name to “Jesus's birthday”. I'm sure Jesus will be very happy for Melissa's support, though I hear he's more of a Lisa Vanderpump fan.
All I want for Christmas this year is the Jersey women to get along ... Okay, that's a lie. What I really want is a big fight on the scale of the infamous table flip, but I'll settle for a little wine or shade throwing.
It may be the season of goodwill, but there's no better time than Christmas for a Housewife to show off her wealth, or lack thereof. Teresa has enjoyed lean Christmases over the last few years, owing to the legal costs associated with her trial. Conversely, Melissa's Christmas is a time of diamonds and bling. Joe showers her in gifts, though I expect Tarzan gets a little something in return ...
I'm cooking Christmas dinner for the first time this year, and I've already started having stress dreams about undercooked meat and burnt parsnips. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for someone who is cooking for any more than two people!
Teresa, as the bestselling author of multiple cookbooks, is no doubt the most accomplished cook of all the Housewives. Dina must be having a quiet Christmas, as she won't be welcome at Caroline's traditional huge dinner. Judging by what we've seen so far, I think the twins are more interested in the drinks being served at Christmas than the food. As for Amber, I'm guessing Jim does most of the cooking, as he likely enjoys killing the turkey with his bare hands.
